Emily

Practice Administrator

While Emily’s official title at V.E.T. Care Hospital is “practice administrator,” she is much more than that. She is also a time manager, a mediator, an inventory specialist, a client relation connoisseur and a clinic mom, all rolled into one!

Emily began her tenure at V.E.T. Care Hospital as a receptionist and as the practice grew, so did her duties and responsibilities. Before she knew it, she was dealing with clients and their owners, while managing the staff. To this day, one of her favorite parts of the job is getting to witness the pure, unbreakable bond that people have with their animals. She also loves watching puppies and kittens grow into adult dogs and cats. Also, nothing can beat the satisfaction of managing the amazing staff that she does now!

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Emily would eventually move to South Carolina to attend Coastal Carolina University. She earned her psychology degree and a good stroke of fate would bring her to the doorstep of V.E.T. Care Hospital. Today, Emily lives with her husband and their two daughters. Her home is somewhat of a refuge for foster animals, as she has fostered over 20 animals over the years.

When she’s not busy with the animals, you can find Emily tending to her successful decorating business!

Hailey

Veterinary Technician

Growing up, Hailey had a habit of seeing possibilities where others saw problems. If there was a stray dog nearby, her first instinct was to help. More than once, she tried to convince her family that one more dog could come home with them. While not every rescue attempt was successful, those moments revealed something that would stay with her for years. She never liked seeing animals without care, comfort or a safe place to belong.

That compassion eventually found a purpose when Hailey stepped into the veterinary field and gained hands-on experience through a veterinary technician program at the University of Texas at Arlington. The more she learned, the more she realized how rewarding it was to watch pets recover from illness and return to happy, healthy lives. Just as meaningful was the opportunity to help pet owners understand how to care for their companions and feel confident in the decisions they were making.

Hailey joined V.E.T. Care Hospital in 2020 after deciding she wanted something different from the corporate veterinary environment. She was drawn to the welcoming atmosphere and small-town feel of the practice, where relationships matter and familiar faces become part of everyday life.

Today, one of Hailey’s favorite parts of her role as a Technician is the connection she builds with both pets and their families. She enjoys seeing loyal clients return year after year and appreciates being remembered by name. There is also a special satisfaction in helping nervous pets feel safe and comfortable. Watching a frightened patient relax by the end of a visit reminds her why she chose this profession in the first place.

Originally from Arlington, Texas, Hailey moved to Burleson five years ago. Outside the hospital, she enjoys shopping, cooking and spending time with her three children. For Hailey, caring for animals has never been just a job. It is a chance to make someone’s day a little better, one pet at a time.

Monse

Veterinary Technician

Walking into V.E.T. Care Hospital as a high school senior, Monse was there to complete an internship. At the time, she was looking for experience and a chance to learn more about veterinary medicine. What she found was a place where she could turn a desire to help animals into meaningful work. After completing her internship hours, she was hired part time. When she graduated, she joined the team full time as a Veterinary Technician, continuing to grow in the same hospital where she first began learning the profession.

For Monse, veterinary medicine has always been connected to a simple feeling. Seeing an animal hurt or in pain creates an immediate desire to help. That perspective continues to shape the way she approaches every patient she meets. She enjoys being part of the process that helps pets feel better and gives owners peace of mind during difficult moments.

One area of practice that Monse especially enjoys is dentistry. There is something rewarding about seeing the difference a dental cleaning can make. Watching a pet’s teeth go from dirty to clean and healthy gives her a tangible reminder of the impact veterinary care can have on an animal’s comfort and well-being. She also enjoys exotic animal exams because every patient brings something different to the day. Meeting a variety of species keeps her learning and adds an element of discovery to her work.

Raised in El Paso, Texas, Monse brings a calm and caring presence to the hospital. Outside of work, she spends time with her dog and enjoys maintaining her fish tanks. The patience and attention involved in caring for aquatic life mirrors the thoughtful approach she brings to her role each day. From intern to Technician, Monse has built her career through dedication, curiosity and a genuine desire to help animals when they need it most.

Taylor

Veterinary Technician

Some moments stay with you because they change the way you see what is possible. For Taylor, one of those moments happened during her first day at V.E.T. Care Hospital. A patient named Niko had undergone a front leg amputation. Watching him wake up from surgery, Taylor expected a long recovery ahead. Instead, Niko was already moving around, playful and energetic. Seeing him navigate the world more comfortably and no longer struggle with a leg that had been holding him back was a powerful reminder of how veterinary medicine can improve an animal’s quality of life.

That experience reflected exactly why Taylor was drawn to the profession. She enjoys being part of something that creates a positive change in the lives of others, both pets and the people who love them. Knowing that a patient can leave feeling better than when they arrived gives her a sense of purpose and fulfillment each day.

Taylor joined V.E.T. Care Hospital in February and has spent her first months learning, growing and gaining hands-on experience as a Technician. One of her favorite parts of the job is assisting with surgery. She enjoys being involved in the process, observing the skill and teamwork required, and continuing to learn from every procedure. Each surgery presents an opportunity to expand her knowledge while helping patients receive the care they need.

Growing up primarily in Burleson, Texas, Taylor shared life with her dad, bonus mom and four siblings. Today, her family includes her husband, daughter and their dog, Trigger. Outside the hospital, she enjoys spending time on the lake fishing. She appreciates the chance to slow down, enjoy the outdoors and spend time with the people she cares about most.

As she continues her career at V.E.T. Care Hospital Taylor remains motivated by the moments that make a lasting difference, especially the ones that remind her how resilient animals can be.

Hannah

Veterinary Technician

For Hannah, veterinary medicine is about more than caring for animals. It is about making a meaningful difference in the lives of both pets and the people who love them. Every day brings a new challenge, a new patient and a new opportunity to help, which is exactly what drew her to the profession and continues to inspire her today.

Hannah joined V.E.T. Care Hospital in March 2021 with a clear goal in mind. She wanted to gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced mentors and prepare for veterinary school. What began as an opportunity to build her clinical knowledge quickly became an important part of her professional journey. Working in a small, privately owned practice has allowed her to build lasting relationships with clients and patients while gaining valuable experience in many areas of veterinary medicine.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science, Hannah is currently pursuing a dual Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at St. Matthew’s University in Grand Cayman. Studying in the Cayman Islands has been one of the highlights of her life and has provided a unique opportunity to expand both her education and perspective while preparing for her future career as a veterinarian.

One of Hannah’s favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is the problem-solving involved in each case. She enjoys gathering information, working through challenges and helping develop plans that improve a patient’s health and quality of life. She also values the relationships she builds with clients and enjoys seeing familiar faces return through the years.

Outside of work and school, Hannah enjoys traveling, attending concerts and staying active with friends. She also finds great fulfillment in fostering dogs and cats through the humane society. At home, she shares her life with Ash, a rescue greyhound mix she adopted while attending veterinary school in Grand Cayman.

Sarah

Veterinary Technician

Some of the most meaningful lessons in life come from growing up alongside a pet. For Sarah, that pet was Moose. From the age of 15 until she was 23, Moose was more than a dog. He was a constant companion through some of life’s most formative years. Caring for him, learning what he needed and watching him navigate different stages of life gave Sarah a firsthand understanding of the bond people share with their pets. Those experiences left a lasting impression and helped shape the path she would eventually choose.

After moving to Texas at 18, Sarah decided she wanted a career that would allow her to work closely with animals and the people who love them. She began in veterinary medicine as a kennel technician and bather, where she developed a strong understanding of animal behavior and patient care. As opportunities opened up, she moved into the treatment area and learned alongside experienced technicians, building the skills and confidence that continue to guide her work today.

What Sarah enjoys most about being a Veterinary Technician is helping clients better understand their pets’ health. She believes education is one of the most valuable tools in veterinary medicine. Taking the time to explain preventive care, medications and treatment recommendations helps create a partnership between the veterinary team and pet owners. She also has a strong interest in laboratory diagnostics. From bloodwork and radiographs to cytology samples, she enjoys uncovering the details that help tell the story of what is happening inside a patient’s body and guide the next steps in care.

Originally from Port Townsend, Washington, Sarah grew up surrounded by family, creativity and the outdoors. Today, she shares her Texas home with her boyfriend and a lively collection of pets, including three dogs, two cats, a veiled chameleon and several well-fed porch cats. When she is not at the hospital, she enjoys journaling, painting and working toward her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.

Alison

Lead Receptionist

Some of the most important relationships in Alison’s life can be traced back to animals. In fact, she met her husband, Kamryn, because he rescued a dog she grew attached to named Cho. Years later, Cho is still by her side and remains part of a household filled with beloved pets.

Animals have always been a central part of Alison’s story. Her mother worked as a veterinary technician, and her grandfather broke horses, so animal care was woven into everyday life from an early age. By the time she was 15, Alison had already started her first job at a boarding and breeding facility. Over the years, she gained experience in grooming, boarding and veterinary medicine, building a career centered around helping animals and the people who care for them.

Alison joined V.E.T. Care Hospital in 2021 and quickly found a home in the practice’s welcoming environment. As Lead Receptionist, she enjoys connecting with pet owners who want to learn more about caring for their companions. She finds it especially rewarding to help keep clients informed and to know she has played a role in helping pets stay healthy or receive the care they need. One of her favorite moments is becoming a pet’s favorite person during a visit, earning trust from even the most hesitant patients.

Originally from Oak Cliff in Dallas, Alison grew up exploring the outdoors and still feels most at home in nature. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, going to the gym and seeking new adventures. The Pacific Northwest, with its beaches, forests and Redwoods, remains one of her favorite places to explore.

Along with Cho, Alison and Kamryn share their home with four other dogs, a cat named Sleepy and a pig named Stu. Caring for a house full of animals has reinforced something Alison has known for most of her life: pets have a remarkable way of bringing people together.

Daja

Receptionist

While many children spent their time surrounded by friends and activities, Daja often found comfort in something different. Growing up with siblings, she was independent by nature and enjoyed spending time observing the world around her. Animals, nature and the small details of everyday life gave her a sense of connection and belonging. Even when she was on her own, she never felt alone.  The presence of animals and the natural world around her provided a companionship that stayed with her throughout her life and helped shape the person she would become.

As she grew older, Daja realized she wanted a career that reflected those values. She felt a strong desire to be a voice for animals and help strengthen the bond between pets and the people who love them. That passion eventually led her into veterinary medicine, where she began working as a kennel technician. Caring for animals day after day taught her the importance of patience, observation and compassion. From feeding and walking pets to maintaining their comfort and enrichment, she gained a deeper understanding of the trust animals place in the people who care for them.

In early 2024, Daja joined the team at V.E.T. Care Hospital as a Receptionist. Her previous experience in the veterinary field gave her a strong appreciation for the work that happens both behind the scenes and at the front desk. She enjoys helping clients feel welcomed and supported while also continuing to learn more about animal health and welfare.

One of Daja’s favorite parts of the profession is meeting the wide variety of patients who come through the hospital. From dogs and cats to reptiles, birds and ferrets, she enjoys learning about the unique needs of different species. She also has tremendous respect for pet owners and veterinary professionals alike, recognizing the dedication required to provide quality care. For Daja, every interaction is an opportunity to support both animals and the people who care for them.

Damaris

Receptionist

A trip to the farmers market rarely goes quickly when Damaris brings Maple along. Her miniature dachshund has a habit of stopping to greet nearly every passerby, happily soaking up attention wherever she goes. At home, Maple can usually be found racing around the living room, playing with Damaris’ sister’s pug, Lilo, or following Damaris from room to room. Living with such a social and spirited companion has given Damaris a deeper appreciation for the unique personalities that make every pet memorable.

That appreciation for animals has been a constant throughout her life. Growing up in El Paso, Texas, as the oldest of three sisters, Damaris was surrounded by family and developed a love for animals at an early age. Her interest in science led her to attend college in San Antonio, where she earned a degree in biology. Although she originally considered a different career path after graduation, she knew she wanted to remain connected to the world of animal care.

An opportunity at V.E.T. Care Hospital helped make that possible. Encouraged by her sister, Monse, Damaris joined the team as a Receptionist and quickly discovered how rewarding it is to be part of a practice dedicated to helping pets and the people who love them. She enjoys welcoming clients, getting to know their animals and helping create a positive experience from the moment they walk through the door.

One of Damaris’ favorite parts of her role is learning about the different traits, behaviors and quirks that make each breed and species unique. No two patients are exactly alike, and she enjoys the opportunity to learn something new every day. Seeing pets receive the care they need and watching owners leave with peace of mind makes her work especially meaningful.

Outside of the hospital, Damaris enjoys spending time with family and keeping up with Maple’s adventures. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue her education in sonography while remaining committed to helping others through compassionate care and service.
