Some of the signs that your pet may require urgent medical attention include:

• Difficulty breathing
• Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object

• Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
• Vomiting or diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours

• Trauma, such as from a fall or being hit by a car

If you notice any of these things, seek help right away. At V.E.T. Care Hospital, we always recommend calling ahead when an emergency occurs. This allows us to assess the situation, provide first aid instructions and prepare the hospital and our team for your pet’s arrival.
