Prevention first

Care Built Around Your Pet’s Whole Life

At V.E.T. Care Hospital, we start with prevention. Regular exams, vaccinations, and recommended screening tests help us learn what’s normal for your pet and identify changes that may need attention.

When your pet is sick, our in-house laboratory and imaging equipment can provide many answers during the same visit, so we can often begin care promptly. If your pet needs a service we don’t provide, such as cardiac or neurologic surgery, we’ll explain why and help you find a specialist.

Veterinary medicine is personal at V.E.T. Care. We take time to listen, explain your options, and create a care plan based on the individual needs of your pet.

Pet Preventive & Wellness Care

During an annual exam, we check your pet from nose to tail and recommend vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition guidance, and screening tests based on their age and lifestyle. Regular visits help us spot changes early and make a care plan that fits your pet.

Puppy & Kitten Care

Those first visits help your puppy or kitten get a healthy start. We’ll plan their vaccine series, deworming, and spay or neuter timing, and answer your questions about feeding, house training, and behavior as you settle in together.

Senior Pet Care

Changes in older pets can happen so gradually that they’re easy to miss. Exams every six months help us track your dog’s or cat’s health, while bloodwork and pain management, when needed, can help them stay comfortable and active.

Pet Vaccinations

Core vaccines protect against serious diseases such as distemper, parvovirus, and rabies. We recommend additional vaccines based on where your pet goes and which animals they may encounter. Each vaccination schedule is tailored to your pet’s individual risk.

Pet Dentistry

Persistent bad breath can be a sign of dental disease, including problems below the gumline that you can’t see at home. A professional dental cleaning removes plaque and tartar, and an exam helps us identify painful teeth that may need treatment or extraction.

Pet Surgery

We provide preoperative screening, a pain management plan tailored to your pet, and monitoring throughout surgery. Our veterinarians perform spays, neuters, mass removals, abdominal procedures, and orthopedic repairs during regular business hours. After surgery, we monitor your pet as they recover in a quiet area.

Pet In-House Laboratory & Imaging

Our on-site diagnostic services include bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, cytology, digital X-rays, ultrasound, and endoscopy. Many results are available during the same visit, helping us discuss the next steps in your pet’s care before you leave.

Pet Dermatology & Allergy Care

Frequent scratching, hot spots, scabs, and recurring ear problems are signs that something is irritating your pet’s skin. Depending on the exam, we may recommend skin scrapings, bloodwork, or a biopsy to help identify the cause, which could include allergies, infection, parasites, or a hormonal condition.

Pet Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is a noninvasive treatment that may help reduce pain and inflammation. It can be part of a care plan for pets with arthritis, hip dysplasia, or discomfort after surgery. Your veterinarian can advise whether it’s appropriate for your pet and how many sessions may be needed.

Pet Phovia Light Therapy

A handheld device delivers light to the affected area. We may recommend this treatment for surgical incisions, skin lesions, pyoderma, or other skin conditions as part of a broader care plan. Sessions are typically brief and do not require medication or sedation for the treatment itself.

Pet Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy directs acoustic waves toward an affected area. It may help some pets with joint pain, tendon injuries, or slow-healing wounds. We typically consider it as one part of a broader treatment plan.

Exotic Pet Medicine

We care for birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, rats, chinchillas, sugar gliders, gerbils, snakes, lizards, and turtles. Services include wellness exams; wing, beak, and nail trims for birds; X-rays and bloodwork when appropriate; and guidance on diet and habitat setup.

Pet Nutrition & Weight Management

What a pet eats shapes their long-term health. We identify nutritional requirements, set a realistic weight range, recommend prescription diets when appropriate, and adjust the plan as your animal moves through life stages.

Pet End-of-Life Care

When your pet’s comfort or quality of life becomes a concern, our team is here to help you consider the next steps. We offer hospice and palliative care guidance, in-clinic euthanasia, and assistance arranging aquamation and memorial services. We’ll give your family the time and support you need to make decisions for your pet.

How often should my pet come in for a checkup?
Healthy adult dogs and cats generally need an annual wellness exam. Puppies and kittens need several visits during their first months for vaccinations and other preventive care. For senior pets, we often recommend exams every six months so we can monitor changes more closely.
