About V.E.T. Care Hospital

V.E.T. Care Hospital is a locally owned, full-service veterinary practice in Burleson, TX, since 1995.

How Our Practice Came to Be

Dr. Carlos Gibbs grew up around dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, snakes, and guinea pigs. His curiosity about animals led him to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University and establish V.E.T. Care Hospital in Burleson.

Our mission is to provide quality care and information to ensure each pet the best possible health and each client the greatest satisfaction.

Since 1995, V.E.T. Care Hospital has cared for pets from Johnson and Tarrant counties. We provide clear information and veterinary care tailored to each patient, from preventive exams to orthopedic surgery. Whether your pet is a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, reptile, or another exotic companion, we’ll listen to your concerns and help you make informed decisions about their care.

The year this practice opened. Local families have trusted us with their animals ever since, some of them for decades.

Zepplin

When Zepplin, a pit bull, first arrived at our clinic with a high fever and nonspecific symptoms, early diagnostics revealed only a mild elevation in white blood cells. Initial treatment provided immediate relief, and Zepplin spent several comfortable weeks doing well at home.
However, when the fever returned weeks later, our team recognized that the underlying cause had not yet been fully resolved. Zepplin’s condition quickly declined, requiring immediate emergency intervention. Despite a guarded prognosis and significant surgical risk, our medical team moved forward with an emergency procedure.
Today, months after his surgery, Zepplin is thriving and doing exceptionally well, a testament to swift action, critical care expertise, and the resilience of a loved patient.
